Parenting's blame culture

I stumbled across Sue Denegate's "Fed up with children's behaviour" site recently. It should be no surprise to you that it's a .info.

Basically, Sue tries to blame all of the evils in the world on food additives -- preservatives, colourings -- even antioxidants!

Sue's website and DVD have amassed quite a following of parents who choose to blame their children's bad behaviour on food additives. Of all the evils in the world to blame, food additives.

At some point in time, these parents need to take responsibility for their own children. Your children's behaviour is appalling because of how they were brought up. I'll bet you just bought them a PS3 or a Wii just because they asked for it. Spoilt brats.

Blaming food additives is like obese people blaming the mythical "fat gene". "I don't choose to be fat, its in my genes!"

And don't try and blame childhood obesity on food additives now either. Your kid is fat because he eats McDonalds for dinner 4 nights a week and sits in front of his PS3 in every waking hour.

All parents seem to do nowadays is find something to blame. The violent video games made my poor son kill 30 students then kill himself. TV made my kid fail maths. The "emo culture" makes my daughter use drugs. The food additives make my child abusive.

Stop finding things to blame and start taking responsibility for your child.
