Credit drives impulse purchases

I hate cash. Most of all, I hate carrying coins. In this day and age, it surprises me that a lot of places still don't have credit facilities.

Credit is the default economy of our generation. We can buy anything we like online with credit, pay for petrol with credit, and even buy a hash brown on credit.

A lot of businesses don't seem to understand the power of the impulse purchase. Lets say you're really drunk, and just walk past a McDonalds. You don't think "hm, now, I wonder if I have enough money to buy a hash brown". You just walk in, find you have no cash, and put your purchase on credit.

Similarly (even while not drunk), I'll look in my wallet, say "oh, I have no cash", and select a place to buy my lunch from a place that takes credit.

McDonalds takes credit.
KFC takes credit.
Starbucks takes credit.

Why don't you?
