Having spent the last week and a half in Barton, I think I've had at least one coffee from most of the places around. There is one notable exception -- the "Barton Food Bar" -- which reminds me so much of the Basement cafe in the Transact building, my stomach does hula hoops just thinking about paying money there for a brew.
The list below actually surprised me. I'd heard good things about a few cafés, but they just disappointed. Without further ado, here follows the official realmtech.net "best coffee in Barton" list:
1. Hotel Kurrajong
2. Bellacino's at One National
3. ACT Rugby Union Club
4. Lachlan Cafe
5. Daily Grind cafe
A few notes:
- The coffee at the Hotel Kurrajong is great -- but way overpriced. Expect to pay $4.50 for 250ml.
- Coffee at the Daily Grind was so horrible, it went straight in the bin.
- Only consider the Lachlan Cafe if you're really starved for caffeine. It's only borderline drinkable.
The award for "Best value for money" goes to Bellacino's. At $3.00 for a very drinkable coffee, you can't go wrong.
