You may remember the cartoons of Mohammod that caused the deaths of atleast 72 people (over a fricken cartoon!), caused millions of dollars of damage against churches and christian businesses. Here is a google map mash-up of where the deaths occurred. Quite scary really.
Anyway, at the time the Iranian's, in their anger, decided they would 'test' Western resolve by running a competition of Holocaust cartoons. Well the competition is now over. There was 228 entries from all over the world. Here are the entries. Most of them are fairly innocuous, some could be construed as offensive. Most of them are just crap. Anyway, how many people of died because of these cartoons? How many people have rioted in the streets causing damage? How many people have threatened to kill the cartoonists? None, that's how many. Western Society is calm and civilised. We may not agree with the cartoons but that doesn't mean we are going to kill you and everyone you love because of it. You don't see us burning Mosques.
The Muslim world has a lot of growing up to do before we can take them seriously.
